A princess with personality

Jasmine is one of the main characters in Walt Disney’s cartoon “Aladdin”. The cartoon is heavily inspired by the Arabian Nights tale “Aladdin or the Wonderful Lamp”. Jasmine is the only daughter of the Sultan of Agrabah, and as such, she is destined to marry a man of her own rank who is chosen for her. But Jasmine is rebellious and independent and wants to find a man she will marry for love. So one day she decides to go to the market disguised as a common woman. As she has no money on her, she is mistaken for a thief. But she is saved in extremis by Aladdin, a young thief who immediately falls in love with her. Since he is only a thief and therefore unworthy of marrying her, Aladdin goes in search of a way to impress the princess and win her over.

The Oriental Princess

This figure of Jasmine is very cute, very thin and particularly faithful to the character of the cartoon. It is probably the most successful of the Disney princesses series. We can recognize her famous oriental blue outfit: a top that uncovers the navel and wide pants tightened at the bottom with a contrasting belt. The details are quite simple but perfectly rendered: the earrings, the necklace and the golden shoes as well as her headband with the blue stone. Funko has also perfectly rendered her skin color, which stands out from the other princesses whose skin is usually very pale. And finally her long, thick black hair and her characteristic hairstyle have also been perfectly represented by the creators of the figurine.
